Olympic Lifting Class

At BFIT CrossFit we believe that Olympic Lifting is a pillar of our CrossFit training. During our general classes we break Olympic movements (Clean & Jerk and Snatch) into progressions to help our athletes master these high-level skills. Our coaches take special care to make sure our athletes understand the setup; how to pull the bar off the ground or move it off the shoulder and finish into the receiving positions. The Olympic lifts develop speed, power and accuracy improving the overall athleticism of the athlete.

Olympic weightlifting enhances all 10 domains of fitness and provides a wide range of benefits. This includes balanced muscle strength, increased power, and improved coordination, all of which enhance performance in activities like sprinting and jumping. Olympic weightlifting also enhances flexibility and mobility, promotes greater bone density, and improves overall balance and coordination. This full-body activity builds functional strength for athletic performance and daily life. It can help with body composition by reducing body fat, and can provide mental benefits such as improved focus and a sense of accomplishment.
